After graduating from a small-town Alabama high school, Valerie went to live with her sister in Connecticut, with dreams in her eyes and hopes of getting a record deal in New York City. Since her sister wouldn’t let the young graduate hang out in the big city, this didn’t happen, but Valerie has continued to sing, most recently recording a single to help raise funds for victims of Katrina.
When Valerie was eight years old, she spent a summer on the army base in San Antonio, TX. Down the road was a lady who read palms. She forecast Valerie would get married and have two daughters. Today, Valerie has two children—both girls.
