Rylee Sturgeon

While living in Tempe, AZ, Rylee enjoyed being a groupie for her husband’s band, but she always dreamed of someday having a shot as a lead singer. Then the band broke up. Now she settles for karaoke at the Tiger bar, where she can be the star she always dreamed of being—at least for two nights a month.

Rylee worked in Arizona for eight years as an insurance underwriter. One day, when she couldn’t find her red stapler, someone asked if she had a case of the “Mondays.” She said to herself, “That’s it,” quit her job, and pursued a life on the art-show circuit as a potter. Sitting at her booth and selling her custom-made fountains, she felt fulfilled and free. However, from time to time, she did miss Hawaiian Shirt Fridays.
