We are looking to expand our digital capabilities. In short, we are looking to find one or more senior designers who can join our award winning, London based, team of designers to work with some of the most interesting international brands.
You know the drill. We are looking for the most talented people out there, people who are able to mix media, ideas and concepts into truly engaging designs. If you lack the 200 years of experience, you can make up for it in talent and creative capacity.
Your responsibility will be to develop innovative and high quality design solutions for our clients either independently or in support of a team leader; and to manage and oversee the input of more junior team members and to support their development.

ABOUT YOU
Passionate about design
First and foremost you will be a talented designer with wide ranging interests across the field and related arts. Your primary motivation will lie in developing elegant solutions to design challenges that are beautiful and appropriate from both aesthetic and functional points of view. You will be enthusiastic about all aspects of the design process from the initial research and conceptual stages through to maintaining high standards of delivery across long term roll-outs.
Passionate about the web
With the web forming the majority of your work you will be part designer, part web-geek. You will be enthusiastically aware of current developments online from stylistic trends to the latest and greatest functionality. You will have the judgement to know when to use advanced features appropriately, be driven by user-experience, usability and accessibility best practice and will be aware of the implications of each for your work.
Holistic approach
You will consider the structure, function and content of your work as equally important to aesthetic and emotional concerns. When developing user experience you will be able to express your concepts in diagrammatic form as sitemaps, wireframes, etc and will be comfortable developing ideas in sketch form with specialists and user groups. Beyond interaction design you will be comfortable considering print, advertising, P.O.S., environmental graphics and other offline media and incorporating them within a cohesive broader strategy.
Meticulous and conscientious
You will not be satisfied unless your work meets the highest standard, you have a fastidious attention to detail and the smallest miss-placed element will cause you sleepless nights. Your motivation is to deliver the best and if you're not happy with your work you'll do whatever hours are necessary to satisfy your expectations. You don't consider your job done when visuals are signed off but can be expected to be suggesting improvements for our clients through delivery and once a project is handed over.
Well organised
You can be relied upon to manage your schedule to meet deadlines in good time and in full, juggling multiple consecutive projects when necessary. You pro-actively monitor your projects and those of any reports to highlight problems, time or resource issues in good time. Working with others on a shared server you keep your projects and documents well structured, clearly labelled and defined - other designers are able to pick up your work and quickly orientate themselves.
YOUR CAPABILITIES
Software expertise
Good craftspeople know their tools and software is no exception. You are very competent with the applications you use to get the job done and are able to swiftly learn new tools and techniques when called for. Proficiency with industry standard Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) is essential with Fireworks and Flash skills a distinct advantage. That said, if you're a wizard with Paint and can interoperate seamlessly with others in the team we're platform & software agnostic.
Technical understanding
You may or may not be able to build your own site, but you will understand how websites are put together and the principles underlying their construction. Discussing with developers your view on the use of basic technologies such as html, css, flash and javascript in your designs will not cause you to break out in a sweat. You'll be aware of current best practice for issues such as usability and accessibility, backwards compatibility and graceful degradation and you'll be able to optimise your designs accordingly.
Communication
You will be able to confidently present and discuss your work both internally and to clients and can clearly and concisely convey ideas and principles in presentations and collaborative workshops. You'll be able to defend your ideas and decisions with informed opinion and in a non-confrontational manner when disagreements arise. Your written communication is equally clear and well presented.
Qualifications
A design related degree or equivalent is great, anything specific to interaction or user experience design would also be good. A lack of a formal qualification can easily be overcome by raw talent and demonstrable hands on experience.
Bonus features
These are a distinct advantage as we prefer to have all the following areas represented in the team. Familiarity with working with print, packaging, etc. is a distinct advantage and most of our team is capable of switching from one format to another with ease. Illustration and photographic skills are useful, as are specialist skills such as icon design or typography.
Stories = excitement = engagement that sells.
