The story of Bols goes back to the year 1575 when Lucas Bols set up a small distillery on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Our relationship with Bols stretches from 2004 to 2007 when we created a series of media kits for the PR agency Weber Shandwick, the most recent of which was around the subject of Molecular Mixology, the sister art to Molecular Gastronomy as practiced by Feran Adria of El Bulli in Barcelona, Pierre Gagnaire of Sketch and Heston Blumenthal of The Fat Duck.
According to the father of Molecular Gastronomy, Hervé This, who created the discipline in the 1980s, “Molecular Mixology is the practical application of the theoretical findings of Molecular Gastronomy to the bar environment.” Our mixology CDs were distributed to the press and top bartenders from around the world and conaintained interviews with leading Molecular Gastronomy chefs,,pomoted cocktail recipes based on these fast adapting the theories and invited them all to a Mixology event at the Parisian Ritz.
